The Lewis Center for Educational Research and the Mojave Water Agency are offering mini-grants to fund water conservation projects by schools, teachers or other organizations within the Mojave Water Agency boundaries who want to become more involved in conservation and wise management of groundwater resources.
Preserving wetlands used by migratory birds and amphibians is an example of a project that would fit the criteria of the mini-grant program to manage our desert's groundwater reserves for the benefit of the entire community.
Funding on First-Come Basis
Projects will be funded on merit on a first-come basis from among those submitted to the program, which supports the mission of the Mojave Water Agency "to manage the water resources within the Mojave River Watershed for the common benefit to assure stability in the sustained and beneficial use of all watershed inhabitants."
Application Deadline January 2008.
Application deadline is the second week of January 2008.
Source of Funding
Funding is from a partnership of the Lewis Center for Educational Research and the Mojave Water Agency, and will continue until all funds have been spent.
